Sandor Clegane is known as the Hound because of his savage nature and unquestioning obedience to his masters. Although he hones his fierce demeanor while serving as the bodyguard of Joffrey Baratheon, he is not completely without compassion. After his desertion of the Kingsguard, he becomes a traveling companion and protector of Arya Stark.
